Biography
Hi, I’m Pascal! Born and raised in Saarland, I strictly follow our state motto: “Hauptsach gudd gess” (roughly translates to: “The most important thing is to eat well”).
What got me into computer graphics (and computer science in the first place) was the wish to make my own video games as a kid. I’ve also always been fascinated by physics, and I’ve always derived a slightly masochistic enjoyment from solving challenging (math) problems. But mostly, I simply like to make stuff.
My research goal is to find the ultimate rendering algorithm that can render anything, with the least amount of user intervention, and at the lowest possible render time. Currently, I am mostly investigating how path guiding and bidirectional rendering methods can be modified to get closer to that goal.
My favorite spare time activities are eating good food and cooking.
