Scene Development Process

The scene was inspired by Greek mythology and the visual style of God of War, focusing on dramatic contrast lighting and atmosphere. Early concepts explored different compositions and color palettes to emphasize architectural depth and focal points within the Greek Sponza scene.

Multiple intermediate renders were produced while experimenting with alternative lighting setups, including variations in light placement, intensity, and color balance. These iterations led to the final blue–orange lighting scheme used in the completed render.

Intermediate lighting experiments

This render shows an early scene layout and camera placement experiment, used to explore lighting composition and hierarchy. The central throne was added as a visual reference to the throne depicted in God of War: Valhalla. The spears integrated into the environment reference Spartan imagery and were used to reinforce the Greek mythological theme.
