No one knew where the cat statue came from. It simply appeared one evening, its golden surface gleaming under the dim chandelier. Then, the oddities began. The cat statue was invisible in the shadow. The mirror was located on the floor. The clock ticked backward, yet time moved forward. The unplugged television whispered at night. Objects drifted, goblets inched toward the cat, and everything did not stay in their place. The owner, unnerved, tried to remove the cat statue. The next morning, the harmony of the room was intact, but it was a harmony built on something wrong, something unnatural. The cat remained; the owner, however, was gone. Only a pair of shoes stayed on the floor. Outside, the world had changed. Clouds hung unnaturally; they moved in slow, as if drawn to the statue. Oh, the room was floating on the sky... But no one remembered them being there before.
