SHIP IN A BOTTLE

Our concept

Our main goal was to create an original scene from our own imagination that was built entirely from scratch. We deceided to create all the models by ourselfs but we still used already existing textures from textures.com. Before we even had a general idea on what our scene should look like we already started experimenting with bricks and their material. But we found it boring to create a scene with just a big model out of those bricks so we created something more interesting. After quite some time and a lot of scrapped ideas the pirate themed book shelf was born.

Ship model

(Rendered in Blender)

  • The model consists of 5 parts
  • The ship bricks use a combine material consisting of a lambertian material and a fuzzy mirror material
  • The sail has a texture and a normal map
  • The water bricks only use a lambertian material
  • The water bricks were placed with a physics simulation in Blender and then converted to a mesh
  • Inspiration for the ship: Link
  • The whole model has ~147.700 triangles

Bottle model

  • The model consists of 4 parts
  • Cork and stand use a lamberitian material with a texture and a normal map
  • The rope uses a lamberitian material with a constant textures
  • The glass uses our own glass material to reduce noise
  • The whole model has ~63.766 triangles

The coins, compass and chest

(Rendered in Blender)

  • The model consists of 6 parts
  • All the materials are lamberitian materials
  • The chest frame and the lock both use a rust texture
  • The red tip of compass needle uses a constant texture
  • All models have a normal map except for the red tip
  • The whole model has ~9.638 triangles
