Without Halton Sampler
In the final image:To achieve better image quality, we decided to use the Halton sampler. This distributes the samples better and reduces inaccurate colour representations in the finished image.
In the final image:The Shading Normals are very subtle in the scene. These were used to represent the plant pot, the floor and the tables and to give them a realistic surface.
In the final image:Just visible above the shelf on the right-hand side is a picture frame with a Mandelbrot in it. We found this structure very interesting and visually beautiful and therefore decided to give it a place on the wall as a work of art.
Without Area lights
In the final image:We used Area Lights in the final image to illuminate the panel on the wall in 2 places (left and right) from above.
In the final image: To make the image appear deeper and more realistic, we have implemented a Thinlens camera that focusses on the blackboard on the wall.
This picture is an example of a broken Halton sampler.
The main problem that affected all the features was the lack of information available on them. As a result, it was sometimes difficult to understand the information found, e.g. because the description was not detailed enough or because the information found was incompatible or even completely contradictory. In concrete terms, for example, there was hardly any information on how to change the prime number dimensions in Halton sampler. Or that the surf.pdf had to be scaled by m_transform for the area lights. A few minor problems also arose when using several programmes at the same time. For example, it turned out that Blender sometimes exports other UVs and inverts everything.
The solution to the vast majority of problems was the same: do more research and test, test, printf and test again...
The final scene shows an abandoned classroom. All the bags standing around and the blackboard light switched on show that someone was in this room not too long ago. The room initially looks like what a classroom might look like during a break. At the same time, however, you can see an unknown mass making its way into the room through the walls. So it could also be that the people in the room ran away quickly and left their things behind. Another possibility would be that this situation is a daydream of a student who didn't realise how all the people around him had left.
You can see several formulae on the blackboard, which is not unusual at first, but on closer inspection they don't have much to do with each other and are simply put together at random. The classroom itself also looks fairly ordinary at first. However, a second look reveals that many items are scattered chaotically across the floor, which is quite unusual on this scale. Last but not least, you can see from the disintegrating walls that something is very wrong with the entire room. An unknown mass from outside is making its way into the previously harmonious classroom.
